At the time of the Great Kanto earthquake in Japan, YOSHIDA PORTER's founder , YOSHIDA KITHIZO,used a rope to secure his family belongings and evacuate the earthquake area.
This experience made him realize the importance of a bag lies in its ability to carry and move goods.
Yoshida & Co’s expertise in the field of luggages and bags allows them to create bags that seamlessly blend functionality, design and innovation.(same as what LV done in Europe)

In 1962, Yoshida & Company came up with their original brand “PORTER”, and was later, in 1981, nominated as a member of the NEW YORK DESIGNERS COLLECTIVE (NYDC), the first Japanese brand to receive this award. It was perceived as a great opportunity to get known in the fashion scene, within the bag manufacturing industry.

Porter by Yoshida now counts 900 references, 130 lines, and is distributed in 45 stores all over Japan.

With this success in Japan and the Asian market, Porter has decided to expand to Europe.”
